Resources
Teachers each have their own style. What one teacher will love as a resource may not be helpful to another. Pick and choose what works best for you and your kids.
Books
For the teacher (titles may be similar, but content is very different!)
Teaching English as a Foreign Language for Dummies
Teaching English as a Second Language
Techniques and Principles in Language Teaching
For younger grades
Dick and Jane
alphabet books
Worksheets
Send me worksheets you recommend!
General Websites
Dave's ESL cafe Internet TESL journal (a lot of articles and ideas
English Grammar to wade through but some suggestions are worthwhile)
ESL PartyLand
A lot of great ideas can be found on these websites, especially if you're willing to dig. Most worksheets, activities, etc. can be copied and modified to better fit your class.
Material you can carry with you
Consider investing in practical physical material you can easily carry with you.
For example: compact, portable speaker for iPod. Songs and listening tools are great only if all the students can hear them.
I have very limited knowledge; tell me what you've used; what you recommend (or don't recommend) and why.
